GUNOUTSAV, EDUCATION, AND ASSAM
Assam government launched Gunotsav programme in the state taking inspiration from Gujarat. Under Gunotsav, Gujarat government each year sends independent evaluators to state run primary schools to ensure that the quality of education provided to young students is good.Assam government launched the first phase of Gunostav on Wednesday with an aim to cover 9.11 lakh students in eight districts in a span of three days.Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had tweeted about the launch of Gunotsav in Assam. He was congratulated by Prime MinisterNarendra Modi for the initiative saying that it will benefit both teachers and students.
But the main point here is mostly in Assam there lacks a teacher in primary school.
A school is runed by a single teacher .There are no sufficient classroom also.Definitely one can sum up that the learning and capability scenario of students is very less without conducting gunoutsav also one can strike that in mind ,in my point of view .There was no need of that financial burden for government to conduct gunoutsav .
Parents in Assam continue to prefer private schools over government institutions for their children. The Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) report, 2016, has revealed that the state witnessed a 13 per cent decrease in enrolment in government schools between 2011 and 2016, whereas the private schools saw a 114 per cent growth in enrolment during the same period.
So if Assam govt wants to reform the primary education with quality and quantity it should give emphasis on a rule where the children of Govt service holder must enroll their wards in Govt school and it should be mandatory.
If this happens then its almost 100% sure that there will be a great reformation in primary level .
