Fact behind ilegible handwriting of Doctor

We wonder sometimes that why doctors handwritting cannot be understood ..?
In short it remains a mystery in ones mind for whole life. But not to worry Anurag katuwal is here to clear all your doubts and confusion.

The first and most important reason: because doctors have to write a lot. Fast. Their business is largely volume-driven and many physicians, especially in primary care, can spend an hour or more a day hand-writing notes. And guess what MBBS is a 5 years course means writting fast and inlegible becomes their habit. In MBBS examination for 12 marks question they have to fill four pages answer plus one diagram.so u can imagine how much they have to write?

The second reason? Because there are so few things in the culture of medicine to force them to be legible. Physicians make very expensive secretaries, so they'd rather write quickly and pay attention to the next patient and let other people sort it out.
Few, physicians don't *always* have bad hand writing. I've seen many, many patient charts with excellent, legible handwriting. I think - unscientifically - that younger physicians have better handwriting and value legibility more.
